Wasted Youth And A Fist Full Of Ideals

I've been depressed for quite some time now.
It might have something to do with the fact that I haven't gotten any sleep for almost three days. I think I'm officially an insomniac.

Today I met with some friends whom I love. But I sunk even deeper into my depression as a result of their tales of torment. I hate what this place does to people. Honestly, I wish you all could meet the girls I hang out with. They're the sweetest people you will ever meet. They're actually more like sisters than friends. Not many people get to break down, or goof off, or burst into tears infront of friends without feeling a little ashamed afterwards. I don't. These girls are amazing.
And I swear they're heros for what they have to put up with.
Every intelligent Saudi girl out there who goes through all this crap is a hero.

We talked about the whole camera phone issue.
Honestly some people need to get lives!
As many of you well know, over at this side of the world camera phones (which are barely legal in the first place) are not allowed at female gatherings.
No one wants their pictures "exposed"!
Why is this even an issue?
Why do people give a damn!?
And why are women the only ones affected by this "exploitation"?
Smart questions! Therefore answers are unavailable!
Want answers for: How many videos of girls getting raped or assaulted do you have on your phone?
Or: Did you see that picture of (insert female name here)!? The poor girl's been all over that Blue Tooth!
The good people of Saudi Arabia can answer these kinda questions, no problem!

It makes me sad to think of my wasted youth.
And everyone else's.

"Wasted Youth"

Now that would be a great title for a Greenday song, don't you agree?

This may seem like a silly question, but how is a law like "No camera phones allowed at female gatherings" enforced?

This kind of crap exists, because we're a superficial society!

I beg to differ on this subject.Well I think that beside perverts, we should take part of the blame. Why you ask? Cause our non-ending "curiosity" is what making these kind of clips continue to be circulated.
Pls don't be offended if ask, but do you or your good friends have such clips in your or their cell phones/laptops?
If the answer is "no", then good for you!
Allah yihdi eljamee3!

ps; enjoy your stay in Dubai. Pls check out the new Buddha-Bar restaurant in "Grosvenor House" and give me your feed back. thnx!!

Mocha: Lol, it's actually a lyric.

Engineer Sighted: At female gatherings there is a female security guard who asks to see your phone, if it has a camera then they take it and give you a number. Kind of like mobile coat-checks.

murasaki: I'm very happy to say that I do not (and never did) have any such videos or pictures in my phone. Nor have I ever seen any. Not because I can't find any, but because I simply refuse to.
And there is the society's whole issue with gossip and "fa6'ayi7", which (I agree) can be blamed for the popularity of such videos.

Thanks for all your comments, everyone!

I'm not completely sure I understand you. Are you saying that clips of rapes are circulated, real, actual rapes or just faked porn video? I find this hard to believe

ubergirl87 said...

Doudting Thomas: Real rapes.

Nuri said...

Sorry, i probably don't know much about your country... but sure this must be something unusual! It can be reported to the police?? Or am i being naive?

ubergirl87 said...

Nuri: In our country nothing is for sure. These things might be reported to police, but never really know whether the culprits are punished.

Nuri said...

So it's not worth a try? Men/boys who do those unspicable things do not deserve to be called human beings, they belong to a different category. Not even animals

Nuri here's the thing.. eventually the girls will get blamed for everything that happens to them.

Girl to Policeman: Sir.. that man is bothering me.

Policeman to girl: You're to blame! If it wasn't for your tight abaya, or you showing your *gasp* EYES! He wouldn't have had the guts to approach you.

Sad, but true
