Green Is Also The Color Of Snot, You Know.

I tried to ignore it. I really did.

This obnoxius "patriotism" is getting on my nerves.
The national day was last week, for God's sake! Why are people still "celebrating"?
Don't get me wrong, I am all for freedom of... Expression, if you want to call it that. I don't care if you want to wear green, red, blue or walk around naked to celebrate your country. Just don't nag me to join in the fun.
And do not pollute the stratosphere with your sickening rendition of a world cup song.
Believe it or not, wearing your flag on a t-shirt and singing does not make you a good citizen. And I'm afraid it doesn't even make you look like a good citizen.
Here's what does:
When your fellow Saudi is forced to divorce his wife because he is not "tribal", you do anything you can to help. You openly express your dismay, atleast.
Not agree with the judge.
Not think "how could she marry a non-tribal man, anyway?!"

I cannot begin to express how revolted I am by this story, and people's reactions to it.
How do people live with this much ignorance? Seriously?

I am not into flag waving. It always seems to bring out the worst in people.

in their defence, i guess its their only excuse to have some fun in the kingdom and the police cannot arrest them for celebrating the national day, right?

that said, uber is right as usu.. well ... most of the time.

there are many more pressing issues to be addressed than waving flags, singing the "world cup" song and celebrating the national day. (uber, were they really singing the world cup song BTW?)

Well, if the RP actually see this as Ok, why not take advantage of it? You could start a fashion of Green abayas. If they try to scold you, just say you're being so patriotic....

so if you come from a tribal family, would your father be okay with you marrying someone who isn't from a known family? or someone who doesn't know his origins?

tribal or non tribal .. who the hell cares m8? when will people get it? nationalities, tribes, the friggin divide between people is all MAN MADE.

God didnt say one is better than the other. He said he created all humans as equals, did he not?

So it really shudn't matter. the guy is not from a tribe ... is he human? well as long as he is human that shud be enuf.

yeah I have a lot to say about this, they ruined my life because of the way they think.

The thing is how can a judge issue a divorce decree separating the couple due to incompatibility according to tribal prominent. This is absolutely absurd, if the man himself has not mouthed the words himself, and divorced his wife, then who gave the judge the authority to divorce the couple. And why was not the divorce decree challenged in court, the incident you were referring to, got a few shy articles in the local paper, then the story just died. Although last night episode of Tash has a strong view on the subject, I hope the authority, and that demented judge was watching, this is un-Islamic to say the least.

Did you see the 6ash episode about the story? I thought Islam did not permit forcing someone to divorce his wife for a such a flimsy, ridiculous reason. It's true, the rule is now by culture, not religion. Islam was never for close-mindedness. Fuck it. I'm staying here!

its stupid and silly and i totally agree with what u said..patriotism is not by covering urself in green..its about doing ur best for the future of this country and its ppl and that certainly does not ever include drowning in ignorance and ridiculous cultural swamps and just observe the nonsense and humlilation in silence and indifference then proudly and arrogantly call urself "saudi"..BS..

i hate over zeolous nationalistic folks !! They love taking it to over-drive !! Im not sure but are we the only folks in the world who dont really celebrate national day. I mean the only reason we remeber it is national day is because its published in the papers, thats it !! no cermony, no street signs, no fireworks.. nothing.. come to think of it national is for what.. independence.. union.. what...

as long as its a holiday.. then great.
