Prayer is All You Can Give Them. (And Ofcourse, There's Always Sorcery...)
I don't think I've ever been more selfish than I have these last two months. I have not been aware of anything that has gone on outside of my own head.
As a result, I have neglected everything from my school work to this blog, and I apologize.
I want the world to work. I really, really do. And, to a certain extent, I still do not understand why it doesn't. I might be young and naive, I might still have that wide-eyed, childlike view of the world, but for the life of me I don't get why we can't all just get along. I don't understand how casual violence and murder has become. And to be completely honest, I hope I never do.
And so, I reluctantly watched the news for the first time in two months, and it made me cry. Again.
Because people are dying, and in my country I am not allowed to stand in the street and hold up a sign. I am not given the right of silent, peaceful protest.
Please give blood to the injured in Gaza. There are blood drives in most hospitals in Riyadh, KFH among them.
May God be with them. May God give them strength. And may God forgive us all.

Let's pray and hope for the better...but we should not just keep hoping and praying....but I don't know what we can do to make the world a better place.....
"Because people are dying, and in my country I am not allowed to stand in the street and hold up a sign. I am not given the right of silent, peaceful protest."
Talk about goosebumps.
Yamato Girl: You can spread the word, you know. Make sure people in your community are aware. And depending on where you are you can write to your politicians and ask them to take a stand against this.
Broke Saudi: I'm just sort of numb at the moment.
welcome to the Islamic world where logic and reason are shut off permanently. (Israel is not better for that matter) http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090109/ap_on_re_as/as_afghanistan_backyard_abortion
Arab leaders are cowards power-drunk from all their oil.
Anonymous, Oh, well. What can you do.
ren_crow, Couldn't agree more.
I looked at the pictures on http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/. There are two photoblogs, illustrating the pain going on there. I should warn the faint of heart that they are very graphic. It made me cry. Those are someone's loved ones, someone's brother or sister, husband or wife, lover, son or daughter. Seeing the grief there, it didn't take much for me to place myself in their shoes and it brought me to tears. I don't care who is right and who is wrong or who should win and who shouldn't. It needs to stop. Really. Innocents are dying. I pray that it stops soon.
Israel (politicians) and Hamas deserve each other. Neither one of them want peace, they give a flying hoot about their own people. For Hamas is more important to continue to a fight they can never really win; Israel is way too strong militarily for Hamas to ever win the fight. And Israel reacts exactly as expected; for every Israeli killed by Hamas' missiles, they will kill 100 Palestinians that had nothing to do with Hamas to begin with but whose kids will be great recruits in the years to come. The cycle of violence will be safe and secure for another decade.
Sad to know that Jews, Palestinians and Arabs are in reality brothers and sisters when one starts to analyze the DNA of the people in the region. All because people are insisting to fight over which insane delusion is the "right" one - El/Messiah, Jahve/Jesus or Allah/Muhammed.
When we start to really, I mean REALLY have faith in god (I mean c'mon, some people believe in stones better than us Saudi youth believe in god), that's when we will be able to do something back, but without god, we're really as bad as Israel itself.
Not everyone will understand what I just popped out, but to those who does, I hope you agree with me.
Oh, and with all due respect to everyone, but wearing the white/black Palestinian shimagh doesn't really help you know, especially when they don't know what it means >_>;
Raising your hands once and saying a heartly prayer is 437509521 times better than wearing that shimagh for the rest of your life.
get rid of this "god" crap and perhaps you can all be good people. having faith in stones is just as intelligent as having faith in an imaginary old guy floating around in the sky, sending his "son" or "prophets" to earth. Jesus was lazy SOB who couldn't get a job and claimed to be god's son to receive presents by the gullible. Muhammed was just delusional guy who had been smoking too much hashish. if nothing else, the tooth fairy gives your money and santa brings you some gifts. god just brings death and destruction.
Wow. This thread is going places, lol.
I can't keep up with who's who, so I'll just comment on the shimagh statement.
I think it does make a difference, actually. I got to University, and I spend four or five hours there, sometimes without even thinking of Gaza. When I get home and hear the TV set blaring, I am reminded of it all. And I wear a shimagh just for that: we must always be aware of the plight of the Palestinians. We must NEVER ever forget what they are going through. I think it is dangerous that I can have 20 or 30 conversations throughout the day and not once hear any mention of Gaza. The sight of a flag or shimagh would remind us and maybe even have a couple of people send a few prayers their way.
Well if you put that way, then I have to agree, but I'm only saying that people wearing it out of "fashion" can go shove something up their arses.
